Building demolition

Demolition is obviously our main industry. However, the term demolition does not only define the action of fully demolishing a building. In some cases, we have to only remove a portion of a building while keeping other areas intact. In other cases, because of its location and proximity to other buildings, electrical cables or contaminants, we need to work almost surgically so as not to affect the elements that must remain in place.

Concrete stripping

Stripping consists of removing all or part of the divisions of a building while keeping its outer shell intact. This method is increasingly used as it helps in keeping the charm of some buildings as was the case at the St. James Hotel in Montreal. For too long we thought anyone could improvise themselves as "demolisher" with shovels, wheelbarrows and masses. It's quite the contrary, as this domain requires a lot of expertise, whether in terms of architecture, structure or electro-mechanics.

Asbestos removal

Asbestos was a material commonly used in construction and in many other industries. If the asbestos fibers are integrated or sealed in a product, such as a wall or floor covering, there is no significant risk to health. Asbestos can be a health risk only if fibers are found in the air you breathe.

There are tests to ascertain the concentration of asbestos in the air. We are obviously able to help you to know the risk.

There are very strict procedures for asbestos and asbestos panels removal. All our employees have been trained to handle asbestos safely and appropriately and residues are sent to landfills designed for this type of material.

Recycling

Obviously, with new environmental standards, all waste on our sites are sent to separate sites depending on the type of materials. These sites then recycle these materials such as brick, concrete, wood, metals, etc.. We also give a second life to some other materials and / or equipment. For DÉMO SPEC, environment is important and we take all necessary measures to be in harmony with it.

Excavation

We specialize more specifically in mini-excavation. We have a wide range of equipment which allows us to work in restricted areas. We also converted some mini-excavators to run on electricity to meet the need of zero emissions.

Decontamination

Decontamination consists of removing all traces of dangerous products such as asbestos of course, but also PCBs, mold, contaminated soil, fuel tanks, etc... Special processes are used depending on the type of product. Upon request, we will be happy to assist you in the analysis and/or decontamination.
